Lottoland Material Terms Summary
When you register and/or play with us you agree to be bound by our User Agreement. That agreement contains important information about your (and our) legal rights and obligations. We recommend that you read our User Agreement fully as you will be legally bound by its contents. We provide a summary of some key points below to aid your understanding.
1. Registration
- You must be 18 years of age or older to register and play with us.
- Only one account per person is permitted.
- Registration and play with us remains subject to both initial and ongoing verification in accordance with our regulatory obligations as a licensed gambling provider.
2. Games Offer
We offer a wide range of gaming products on our website. Those products include lottery betting (the ability to make a bet with Lottoland on the outcome of an applicable lottery or lottery style draws), Sportsbetting, financial market betting and random-number generator based games including (but not limited to) scratchcards, slots, casino (including live casino) and bingo games (RNG Games) (see 1.3 of our User Agreement for further details).
3. Bets, Wins & Prizes
- Bets placed with us are final and non-refundable.
- Players are fully responsible for the safety and security of their own account login.
- Players confirm as a condition of website use that they can lose as well as win money gambling.
- Funds left on a players account without any level of staking activity for a period of twelve months or more may become subject to monthly account administration fees if Lottoland has been unable to return them (see 7.6.1 and 7.6.2).
- Wins (including all lottery jackpot wins) are subject to enhanced checks prior to confirmation. That process can take some time given the sums involved. Until that procedure is complete bets (including winning bets) can still be voided and cancelled in certain circumstances (see paragraph 4 below).
- We deduct 38% of prize amount in the three highest prize tiers for our MegaMillions and PowerBall and 20% of prize amount in the highest three prize tiers for SuperEnalotto. Those deductions put winners in a similar overall position as if they had won the underlying lottery. We further reserve the right at our option to pay prizes as a lump sum or on a discounted annuity basis (see for further details see 2.16 to 2.18 of our Lotto Betting Rules here and 3.4 here).
- Sportsbets placed with us are subject to maximum winnings cap of €100,000 (or GBP equivalent) per day. We reserve the right to alter bets to ensure same (see 1.26 of our Sportsbetting Terms for further details see here).
- Confirmation requirements continue to apply to applicable wins even when applicable funds show on the players account. (for further details please see paragraph 4 below).
4. Are there limits on the amount I might be able to recover from Lottoland in the event of issue or dispute?
- Yes. Please refer to 18.6 of the User Terms – Except for verified and confirmed player wins, Lottoland limits and restricts its legal liability to its players (e.g. the amount any player might recover from Lottoland in the event of issue or dispute) to:-
- the stake placed with it; or
- €5,000 (or GBP equivalent) in relation to any other dispute, claim or issue.
- the stake placed with it; or
- The above includes circumstances in which bets or wins have not been verified and confirmed and/or circumstances in which any bet or win has been affected by human, technical, software or systems error (for example, incorrect result, incorrect return-to-player, erroneous win(s), or any under-or overpayment) whether this is apparent at time of bet or becomes apparent as a result of subsequent verification (see section 13 of the User Terms here for further details).
- The above does not limit our legal liability to our players where it would be unlawful to do so.
5. In what circumstances can my account or bets/winnings be suspended or cancelled?
- Players can close their own account at any time. Contact our CS team here and we’ll get it done.
- We may suspend or close your account and/or account bets where you fail to meet initial or subsequent verification including, for example, failing to provide or update proof of identity or source of funds information when we ask you to do so, further to our legal and regulatory obligations in that regard (including those applicable to money laundering and terrorist financing) (see 5.3).
- We may cancel and suspend bet(s) or close accounts where:-
- We know or suspect that any player has, or has attempted to, engage in “Prohibited Activities” (See section 14 of the User Agreement). Activities which are prohibited include cheating at gambling, collusion, fraud, unlawful conduct and/or any player(s) seeking to take advantage of any gaming, systems, product, promotional or pricing offer or error, whether or not any attempt in that regard is successful;
- We reasonably consider that any player has breached the User Agreement (see section 15).
- We know or suspect that any player has, or has attempted to, engage in “Prohibited Activities” (See section 14 of the User Agreement). Activities which are prohibited include cheating at gambling, collusion, fraud, unlawful conduct and/or any player(s) seeking to take advantage of any gaming, systems, product, promotional or pricing offer or error, whether or not any attempt in that regard is successful;
- In addition Lottoland may void bets, and/or RNG Games played, and/or withhold any associated winnings, including but not limited to circumstances, in which :
- Any bet is placed or accepted after a relevant deadline or after the start of the relevant event, or outcome of any event is, or is likely to be known (see 13.1.1) (see further our Betting Rules) for further examples of this as well as what happens in respect of cancelled events, non-runners, betting integrity issues etc);
- We become aware of any human or technical error or malfunction in relation to any RNG Games, bets, services or associated events (including any human or technical error in relation to any Bet or any other software, hardware or feed used by Lottoland (whether our own or any third party’s)) to provide the Website or any service upon it, such as any erroneous wins or results, the incorrect offer or display of applicable game or event odds, and/or circumstances where any error or malfunction is evident or suspected at time of bet placement or play and/or only becomes apparent upon subsequent verification (see 13.1.10 for further details on the errors and malfunctions which may void bets);
- You have provided us with false, inaccurate, incomplete or expired information; have more than one account; or were less than 18 years of age at the time of placing the Bet (see 13.1.7);
- We are required by law or requested by the police or any regulatory authority to do so (see 13.1.5);
- the relevant Betting event is declared by an organiser, co-organiser, governing body or regulatory authority as being invalid, incorrect, published in error, or subject to adverse finding. This includes circumstances in which the integrity of any event or result has been called into question (see 13.1.11);
- Winnings have been credited to your account in error.
- Any bet is placed or accepted after a relevant deadline or after the start of the relevant event, or outcome of any event is, or is likely to be known (see 13.1.1) (see further our Betting Rules) for further examples of this as well as what happens in respect of cancelled events, non-runners, betting integrity issues etc);
- The results for our Millionaire Plus game are selected from the numbers drawn for the Swiss Loto Express keno game as part of the Swiss National Lottery. As set out here, in the event that Type A Prize Category for that game exceeds Lottoland’s Jackpot threshold (currently €110 million) then instead of placing a Bet on the outcome of Loto Express, Players will be requesting that Lottoland purchases a ticket (“Ticket”) to the lottery draw whose results are derived from Österreichische Lotterien GmbH (draws taking place in Paris every Tuesday and Friday evening) via Lottoland’s ticket agent (“Alternative Service”) bearing the same numbers as those selected by the Player. Any bets placed on the outcome of Loto Express prior to the Type A Prize Category exceeding €110 million, will automatically become void. Your stake paid in respect of the Loto Express bet will instead then be applied to purchase a Ticket.
