Where does the Money Go?
Imagine if Your Life was £100
Crunching the Numbers
We have taken data from the Office of National Statistics in the UK to find out what we spend most money on in our lifetimes. A similar study was carried out for the United States, with some significant differences. The good old NHS means that our spending on healthcare is much lower than our cousins over the water. Transportation and housing account for a big slice of our hypothetical £100, but the government gets its hand on even more money than that in the form of taxes. We Brits certainly like to enjoy ourselves, and this is reflected in the £9 spend on Entertainment and Culture, not to mention the £6.20 on Restaurants and Hotels and the £1.50 on booze and ciggies. Take a look at the informative infographic below to discover where the rest of our money goes:

Lotteries are about much more than random numbers. There are so many fascinating stories about the people who take part in lotteries, and I enjoy being able to share those stories on these pages.
