We have taken data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to try and work out just what percentage of our money is spent on different areas in the United States. As you may have guessed, transport and housing costs take up a big chunk of your hundred dollars. But you will be dismayed to discover just how much of your hard-earned cash goes straight to the tax-man! The average US citizen spends more cash on eating at home than on going out to eat, and less on entertainment than either of these. The study paints a fascinating picture of just how people spend their money in the US, with the amount spent on cars and transportation pretty eye-opening.
